Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Pubs In The Sun (the 'Service'), including its website, mobile applications, and APIs, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Service.

Use of Service

Pubs In The Sun provides curated information about pubs with outdoor seating and sun exposure, including sun-tracking data, rankings, guides, and reviews (collectively, the 'Content'). The Content is compiled through proprietary methods and represents significant investment in research, data collection, and analysis. This information is provided for your personal, non-commercial use only and may not always be accurate or up to date.

User Conduct

You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. Do not attempt to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to our systems. You must not use the Service in any way that could impair its performance, overwhelm its infrastructure, or interfere with other users' access.

Prohibited Data Use

You may not, without our express prior written permission: (a) scrape, crawl, spider, or use any automated means (including bots, scripts, browser extensions, or AI tools) to access, extract, index, or collect any Content from the Service; (b) copy, reproduce, republish, or redistribute any Content, whether manually or through automated processes; (c) use any Content from the Service on your own website, application, social media account, or any other platform; (d) compile, aggregate, or create derivative datasets from the Content; (e) use the Content to train, fine-tune, or otherwise develop any machine learning model or artificial intelligence system; or (f) systematically download, store, or cache any portion of the Content beyond what is necessary for ordinary personal browsing.

Data and Content Ownership

All Content on the Service — including but not limited to pub listings, sun exposure data, rankings, ratings, guides, reviews, photographs, maps, and curated recommendations — is the proprietary property of Pubs In The Sun and constitutes a protected database under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997. Unauthorised extraction or re-utilisation of a substantial part (or repeated extraction of insubstantial parts) of the database is prohibited.

Intellectual Property

All content, branding, design, logos, trademarks, and code are owned by Pubs In The Sun or its licensors and are protected by UK and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, license, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.

Enforcement and Remedies

We actively monitor for unauthorised use of our Content. If you breach these terms, we reserve the right to: (a) immediately terminate your access to the Service; (b) pursue legal action, including seeking injunctive relief and damages; (c) report the breach to relevant authorities; and (d) recover all costs and legal fees incurred in enforcing these terms. We may also implement technical measures, including rate limiting and access restrictions, to prevent unauthorised data collection.

Permitted Use and Licensing

If you wish to use any Content from the Service for commercial purposes, media coverage, academic research, or on any external platform (including social media), you must contact us to obtain a licence. Requests can be made via our contact page. We may grant permission at our sole discretion and may attach conditions to any licence.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of pub information, opening hours, sun exposure data, or any other Content.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Visit pubs at your own discretion and verify details directly with venues.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
